About the Event
Plant Soul Connection - An Introduction to the World of Plant Medicine
Herbalism, or the practice of using plants as medicine is, at it’s roots - a cultivation of a relationship with plants
There is a Native American saying, “If We Listen They will Teach Us”
The Native Americans and all indigenous cultures around the world all use plants that grow in their region to help maintain health, prevent disease and promote vitality and strength in daily life.
We won't be discussing the science of botany, or the chemical constituents of the plants in this introductory class, but what we will do is delve into the deeper knowing of a plant, it’s energy, it’s essence, and how we may be helped by it.
‘Listening’ in the above saying refers to a deep understanding or knowing a plants’ essence and why it may have been come to you or been noticed by you at a particular time.
Having plant allies, plants you know intimately and use regularly, can help you live a happy and healthy life.
We will spend our time getting to know some strong local plant allies. Where they grow, when they bloom, which parts of the plant is used, and how best to either harvest them in the wild or cultivate them in your garden.
We’ll even taste them during an Herbal tea break!
And if you join us for the afternoon session, we will walk in the forest and open spaces near by to Quantum and meet some plant allies where they live.
Learning to identify wild medicinal and edible plants, while also discussing safe and responsible wildcrafting practices.
